Status

Housed in the Gallows, subsisting on an insufficient (blue) lyrium ration. Cleaner than before. Has put on some much-needed weight since the worst of his time in Skyhold's dungeon. Has a feeling he's approaching another one of life's crossroads and doesn't like it.

Hooks

Red lyrium research, templar drama, religious disillusionment, mage rights, personal morality struggles, redemption (his or someone else's). He established the most widely destructive of the opposing factions, so maybe you'll have some feelings about that. Even so, a grouchy interaction doesn't always mean he never wants to talk to your character again; it might be just the opposite. Samson is a chatty guy and will (usually) entertain almost any company, since he is lonely in his heart.
